I was playing some games earlier and saw that my laptop was struggling a bit, so I thought to myself "I wonder what the most expensive computer I can build would cost," so I did just that.

Assuming that we can add "bi/tri-monthly maintenance" to the build I'd go with a Mineral Oil submerged build

 

if that "maintenance" means the cost of someone else coming over and doing it themselves, i'm down.

Assuming that we can add "bi/tri-monthly maintenance" to the build I'd go with a Mineral Oil submerged build

I maintain my water setup like once every 16 months

water cooling is MUCH less maintenance than a oil submerged build would be.  In fact water cooling a rig usually means less maintenance overall, but more work when you do have to give it a "tune-up."

Water cooling is way easier to manage. I keep my potato water cooled at all times. the only thing I have to do every once in a while is cut the sprouting roots.
